The Acquia Cloud platform enforces a fixed limit of 500 assets per separate browser session for bulk edit operations, including permanent deletion. This limit cannot be increased and exists to protect system performance and reliability for all users. Delete assets at any time to remove old or outdated content that is no longer necessary. You must have the Delete permission for the specific asset group to remove assets from the site.
Methods to delete assets:
Select Delete, a trashcan icon, on an asset thumbnail in the search results.
Access the Asset Details page.
Use the three-dot menu on the Asset Digest page.
Process assets in batch through the Selection panel.
Best practices for large deletions:
Use filters such as asset groups, metadata, upload date, or status to target exactly what to delete.
Select up to 500 assets per batch.
Run subsequent batches only after the previous batch is submitted to avoid overlapping work.
Allow time for the Pending Delete queue to process and avoid re-submitting the same items.
To perform very large, time-sensitive cleanups, consider contacting Acquia Professional Services for assistance.
Once submitted, assets enter the Pending Delete queue on the Admin dashboard. Assets can take hours or days to process fully. An administrator account can review this queue to permanently delete or restore assets. Deleting assets does not delete the associated asset groups. To delete more than 500 assets, repeat the process in multiple separate browser sessions.
