Yes, we offer test sites that are secondary to your existing production Acquia DAM. Test sites are used for training or other testing and experimentation and offer all the features and functionality of your production site, but they’re completely separate from that site. There’s a limit of 10 users for test sites.
There are two test site options: a test site where you configure the site, then upload assets and add metadata, or a test site where you configure the site, and then assets and metadata that are exported from your production site are imported to the test site.
Updates and configurations made to your test site do not impact assets in your production site. Also, updates and configurations in the test site, including those to the API, single sign-on (SSO), and native integrations, cannot be pushed to your live production site.
Test site¶
With this option, the site comes with the same core functionality as your original production site, and the rest of the site is built from scratch. You’ll configure roles, asset groups, upload profiles, metadata types and fields, etc. within the site and upload assets and add metadata. Acquia-branded watermarks are applied to previews, converted assets, and embedded previews. You’ll also set up the API and SSO.
Test site with export/import from your production site¶
Test sites can also be created with a single-point-in-time bulk asset and metadata export from your production site. You’ll configure roles, asset groups, upload profiles, metadata types and fields, etc. within the site. With this option, we’ll export assets and metadata from your production site and a duplicate of those assets will be uploaded to your test site. Metadata will be imported after configurations are complete. Acquia-branded watermarks are applied to previews, converted assets, and embedded previews. You’ll also set up the API and SSO.
Costs¶
There is a fee for each test site, depending on the one you choose and how long you’d like to use the site. Test sites are available for either 90 days with 1,024 GB of active storage or one year with 2,048 GB of active storage. Contact your customer success manager for more information.
