Acquia is updating the Acquia DAM login page to improve performance, security, and mobile responsiveness. The core features of the login process remain the same. However, this update introduces a modern design and new self-service customization options for administrators.
Changes
The login page transitions from legacy technology to a modern interface. See the following improvements:
Updated User Interface (UI): The login form and the Forgot Password and Create Account modals feature updated fonts and design patterns.
Mobile adaptability: The site logo and the login form adapt and move based on the screen size to ensure a seamless mobile experience.
Performance: The new page removes unnecessary dependencies to improve overall load times.
New customization options
Administrators can now customize text and settings that previously required assistance from Acquia Support.
Customize login text
Edit the headers, subheaders, and button text for your login page directly in the Admin app.
Go to Admin > Global Settings > Site branding.
Select Login Page from the menu.
Select the Text tab.
Here you can update fields such as:
SAML/SSO Header and Subheader Text
SAML/SSO Button Text
Header Text Above Login
Create Account Button Text
Note
If Acquia Support configured custom text previously, the system retains it. You can override or update it with these settings.
Enable collapsible login form
If your organization prefers that users log in through Single Sign-On (SSO) rather than with an Acquia username and password, enable a "Collapsible Login Form."
How it works This collapses the standard username/password fields and emphasizes the SSO button. Users can still access the standard login form if they select to expand the section.
How to enable
Go Admin > Site Branding > Login Page > Login Form
Select the box for Enable Collapsible Login Form.
Updates for SSO customers
If you use a custom SSO (SAML) button, the UI appearance of the button and text updates to match the new design pattern.
Features: The button features remain unchanged.
Setup: The process to provision SSO buttons initially remains the same and requires Support setup.
Management: Once active, manage the text display through the Text tab mentioned previously without the need to contact Support.
Important considerations
As part of this technology upgrade, specific changes apply to how customizations function:
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) Overrides: Because the underlying technology of the page changes, legacy CSS overrides applied to the login page are no longer honored. If you used CSS to hide the login form previously, we recommend the new Collapsible Login Form setting.
Animated GIFs: The system no longer supports animated GIF files for login page background images.
Logos in Backgrounds: If your site logo is in your background image, it still displays. However, to take full advantage of the new mobile responsiveness, Acquia recommends that you upload the logo separately through the Images tab in Site Branding.
