Portal banner sections can use images and colors. You can add a single banner at the top of the portal or multiple banners between asset sections. To add images, select Change image, then search for and select an image, crop it, and add a Call-to-Action button. The image is placed in the banner area. Drag the image to the best position.
Select the Edit button (pencil icon) to open the rich text editor in a modal and edit text in the banner section. Text editing is accomplished in this modal. Resize the text box width using a slider range selector instead of the previous click-and-drag method.
Image specifications and file types¶
You can use AI, EPS, GIF, JPG, PSD, or TIFF files for images. The system does not retain GIF animation in banner images; the first frame of the GIF is used instead.
For the best results, use images that are 2,048 x 512 px, with a minimum height of 256 pixels. To ensure maximum responsiveness, ensure that there is enough space around text and buttons for smaller windows.
Adaptive mode and responsiveness¶
Adaptive mode is enabled when the screen width drops below 1,024 px. In adaptive mode, banners adjust in the following ways:
- The banner image is anchored on the center (vertical and horizontal center anchor).
- Text in the bcnner section scales down.
- All Call-to-Action buttons automatically consolidate into a single Actions menu.
Placing text and buttons on the left side of the banner provides the best user experience. If you must include more than one image in a banner, first create a layered file in Photoshop, and then upload it as an asset to Acquia DAM.
Background color¶
Change the image at any time, or delete it if it is not needed.
To change the background color, select Change background color. Choose the color you want, enter a Hex or RGB value, or select one of the default options.
