Using the Hootsuite integration, you can leverage the security and searchability of Acquia DAM from within Hootsuite to post content and measure performance across social networks. The integration also allows you to quickly and easily crop and resize DAM assets within Hootsuite to accommodate various social channels and helps social teams save time and avoid the bottleneck of asking designers to retrieve brand-approved content from the DAM.
There is no cost for the Acquia + Hootsuite integration.
To get started using the integration, you’ll need to install the DAM in Hootsuite and authenticate your DAM site and account before searching and posting.
First, log in to your Hootsuite account, then click New Post.
Click Open Media Library, and in the Free Images dropdown, search for the DAM. Click Install to add the Hootsuite Connector.
Make sure your browser is set to allow pop-up windows. In the pop-up that displays, enter your DAM site URL, then log into your DAM account to authorize access and complete the installation.
With that done, all of the categories from your site will display and you can then create social posts by clicking a category or searching to find the assets needed for your posts.
To post to your social accounts, enter a keyword or click the category folders to find assets.
Only assets you have permission to view will display in the search results. EPS, GIF, Illustrator EPS and native, JPG, Photoshop EPS and native, PNG, and TIFF file formats are included in search results.
Select an image to use for your post from the search results. To add multiple images to a message, simply select them and they’ll be added as message media.
Choose to add effects, frames, overlays, stickers, and a number of other options to the image using Hootsuite’s photo editor. Click Edit with Creative Cloud to make updates to the image.
Add overlay text using the standard meme generator or custom text using custom colors and fonts.
Once you’re done, confirm the social networks you want to publish the image to, as well as your message text, then schedule your post to anytime in the future or send it now.
That’s it! Check out your post on your social sites and monitor the Hootsuite stream for ongoing activity.
