When you become an Acquia customer, your contract determines the primary Amazon Web Services (AWS) location from which your Acquia DAM data will be served, processed, stored. That location is typically nearest to you to ensure optimal performance. Stored data includes files, databases, application servers, and search infrastructure. For customers in Europe, with limited exceptions (listed below), most of your data can be stored in and served from AWS data centers in Frankfurt and Ireland.
For certain functionality, however, we’ve partnered with other organizations, some of which are located in the United States. Therefore, a portion of your data may be served, processed, and stored in data centers in the US. That functionality includes:
- Insights: Usage analytics are stored in the US.
- Auto tagging of images: Keywords for images that are tagged are extracted in the US.
- Enhanced proofer in Workflow: Proofs are stored in the US.
- FTP uploader: Acquia DAM FTP processing for uploading files is done in your Acquia DAM home data center.
- Native integrations: Links to files and metadata that are processed by integrations are hosted in the US.
- Share links and embed codes: The content delivery network is powered by Amazon CloudFront, which replicates assets globally for secure delivery with low latency and high transfer speeds worldwide.
- Templates: Customization of templates and storage of those templates occurs in the US.
- Related assets by look: A version of the asset file is sent to US data store to process for similar search indexing.
- Video conversions: Specific video file types for certain customers are processed in the US.
