August 2023 Release Notes
Redesigned search¶
The asset search experience has been redesigned to be more modern, stable, and efficient. The new search is opt-in for everyone while we work on more improvements. You can keep using the old search or switch between the new and old versions. Here's how to enable the new search experience.
What’s different¶
- New sorting options, including relevance
- Improved search performance
- Modernized asset cards
- Updated download, share, and view experiences
- Collapsed sidebar filters you can scroll independently
- Shareable search URLs
- Batch asset selection and actions will be added later
Asset Digest enhancements¶
The Asset Digest navigation bar has been redesigned to make it easier for editors to navigate while editing assets. It includes a button that opens asset insights.
Asset Digest now displays metadata in a list rather than columns, making it easier to scan. You can also hide empty fields and adjust the page layout to make the asset wider and the information panel narrower.
Updated sharing¶
With the updated experience, you can now send an asset share link to someone and let them choose the size and format to download. Additionally, you have a new sharing option: the embed link.
Rebuilt asset insights¶
The latest version of asset insights in Asset Digest has simpler visuals, more powerful filtering, and improved accessibility.
Bug fixes¶
- The categories button is no longer visible in the global navigation of the Assets app if the feature is turned off.
- The issue of favorited global collections not appearing first in the Collections modal has been fixed.
- Quick Insights data for Site Loads and Site Plays was not being recorded correctly. This issue has been resolved for data generated in the future, but not for historical data.
- The issue that prevented users from deleting Template documents from the Templates app has been fixed.
- An issue where formatting changes, like bolding or italicizing text, made to a Workflow form text editor wouldn't save has been resolved.
- A Workflow app issue was fixed so that commenters from a previous stage no longer automatically appear in the Upload new version menu. The only exception is when you reopen a deliverable after a final version has been uploaded, the commenters from the final stage will automatically populate.
- Previously, if you were using the enhanced proofer and two or more stages in a Workflow deliverable had the same name, a proof would not generate. This issue has been fixed. Now, for new proofs, an underscore and the duplicate number will be added to any stage name that matches an earlier stage name.
- An issue where Workflow proofs loaded into the old proofer instead of the enhanced proofer has been resolved.
