Sitemap generation¶
Acquia Source provides automated XML sitemap generation to improve Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and ensure search engines can efficiently discover your site’s content. The sitemap is dynamically updated as content is created, updated, and unpublished.
Sitemap generation supports both node and Drupal Canvas pages, and allows users to exclude specific content types or individual pages from inclusion in the sitemap. This allows you to exclude pages that should not be indexed for search, such as thank you pages and administrator-only content. The sitemap will automatically regenerate based on published changes to node or Drupal Canvas pages. For large sites, sitemap generation is optimized for performance and should not impact site speed.
It is considered best practice to regularly review which content types and pages are included in your sitemap to improve SEO.
