Blocks are containers Drupal uses to display information, such as search fields and view results, on one or more pages of your website. You can create both custom blocks containing images and text, and dynamic blocks changing as your website changes.
You can change content and display regions and page placement, so blocks are the primary method of visually organizing your website’s structured information around each webpage’s content.
Various modules also provide blocks to present module information on websites. For example, enabling the Comment core module displays the Recent comments block.
Drupal website administrators can create new blocks and change their website’s block settings at Structure > Blocks (site path).
