To deprovision a hostname removes it from Acquia Edge Standard. After you deprovision a hostname, traffic no longer routes through the Edge network for that hostname. Edge Standard protections and caching no longer apply.

Use this procedure to:

• Move a hostname to a different delivery or security provider.
• Stop routing a hostname through Edge Standard.

Before you begin

1. Plan your DNS change first.
2. To avoid downtime, update your DNS records to point to the new destination before you deprovision the hostname.
3. Ensure you have access to the Edge Console and permission to manage domains.

Deprovision a hostname

Deprovision a hostname

1. Log in to the Edge Console.
2. Select Domains.
3. Find the domain you want to remove.
4. In the domain row, open the Actions menu.
5. Select Deprovision domain.
6. In the confirmation dialog box, review the warning message.
7. Select Confirm.

The domain status changes to Deprovisioning while changes propagate.

Cancel hostname configuration

If a domain is partway through setup, you can refer to an option to Cancel configuration. To cancel configuration deprovisions of the domain before it becomes fully configured.

1. Log in to the Edge Console.
2. Select Domains.
3. Find the domain in an in-progress status, such as Connecting to Edge or Ownership validation pending.
4. Open the Actions menu and select Cancel configuration.
5. Confirm the action.

After deprovisioning

• Edge Standard no longer proxies traffic for the domain.
• Security protections and caching no longer apply.
• DNS changes can take time to propagate globally.
