This document provides details about the requirements that you need to meet before you can set up and use Acquia Edge Standard.

Before you configure Edge Standard, ensure that you have:

• An active Acquia Cloud Platform subscription with an Edge Standard entitlement.
• Confirmation that Acquia has set up Edge Standard for your account (you receive a welcome email).
• An Acquia ID to sign in to the Edge console at Edge Console | Acquia.
• Administrative access to your external DNS provider (for example, GoDaddy or Amazon Web Services (AWS) Route 53) for ownership validation and DNS repointing.
• The latest version of the Acquia Purge module is installed on your Drupal application so that cache invalidation works correctly.

Use Edge Standard with Acquia-hosted custom domains, such as www.example.com, where you can repoint DNS.

Additional limitations

• SSL certificates: Acquia does not support BYO SSL certificates. Acquia generates and installs certificates after DNS validation.
• Root domains: Root (bare) domains work only if your DNS registrar provides CNAME flattening (ALIAS or ANAME records). To enable Edge Standard for a root domain, contact your Acquia Support team.
• Stacked CDNs: You cannot route a hostname through Edge Standard and another reverse-proxy CDN (such as Platform CDN) simultaneously.
