Asana Connector is an application that you can install in your Asana projects to seamlessly search, attach, and create assets in your Acquia DAM (Widen) system directly from the Asana interface. It saves time and reduces the risk of using outdated files by eliminating the need to manually download assets from one system and upload them to another.

Features

Asana Connector allows three core actions without exiting your Asana task:

Searching and attaching assets

1. Open a task in Asana.

   

2. In the Acquia DAM (Widen) field, select the Attach DAM Asset to Task action.

   
   

3. Use the Quick Search to search by filename, metadata, or additional attributes.

   This is similar to Acquia DAM (Widen) search. Advanced search syntax or search shortcuts are also used.

   

4. After attaching, click anywhere on the asset widget to access the full asset directly in Acquia DAM (Widen).

   

Performing the Upload or Update action in Acquia DAM (Widen)

1. Open a task in Asana.

2. In the Acquia DAM (Widen) field, select the Perform Action in DAM action.

   
   
3. Select one of the following options:

   • Upload Asset

     Select this option if a file is attached to the task.

   • Update Asset Metadata

     
     

Installing Asana Connector

Before you start the installation, Asana Connector must be provisioned for your Acquia DAM (Widen) site.

1. Go to the project to add the connector and select Customize.

2. Go to Apps and click +Add.

   

3. Search and select Acquia DAM (Widen).

4. Click Add to project.

   

5. Click Connect to Acquia DAM (Widen) and log in to your Acquia DAM (Widen) account with your credentials.

   

6. Click Allow to enable Asana Connector to access your Acquia DAM (Widen) account.

   

Limitations

Asana Connector has the following limitations:

• Only one Acquia DAM (Widen) site and one Asana workspace can be connected.
• Only one asset can be attached to a single Asana task.
• The Asana Update Asset form limits the number of fields and the options for controlled vocabulary fields.
