In Acquia DAM, you can select and archive multiple assets from the new search experience. Bulk archiving hides outdated assets from standard users to reduce clutter and preserves the assets and their historical data.
To bulk archive assets, you must have both of the following permissions enabled on your account:
- Access Archived Asset
- Administrate Archived Assets
If you do not have these permissions, contact your DAM administrator to request access.
Bulk archive assets from new search
- Open the new search experience in Acquia DAM.
- Select the assets that you want to archive.
- In the bulk actions bar that appears, click the Ellipsis icon (three-dot menu).
- Click Archive.
- Review the confirmation modal. Because bulk archiving is irreversible, the modal requires that you explicitly confirm your choice before the system proceeds.
- Click to confirm the archive action.
After you confirm, the system archives the selected assets and displays a toast notification to indicate success.
View archived assets
After you bulk archive assets from the new search experience, you must switch to the classic search experience to view them.
To view archived assets:
- Navigate to the classic search experience.
- Click More.
- Click Archived asset search.
- Search for the archived assets that you want to view or download.
Note: The option to view archived assets is not yet available in the new search experience. You must use the classic search to access archived asset search.
Important considerations
- Bulk archiving is irreversible. You cannot unarchive assets after you archive them.
- Archived assets consume storage space and count toward your storage allowance.
- Archived assets may take several hours to become available for download.
- Archiving hides assets from standard users but preserves all metadata and historical data.
- If you need to manage large volumes of assets, consider reviewing your retention policies before you proceed with bulk archiving.
