Templates can be released and expired from Manage Templates page in the Templates app. They can also be re-released if they've been expired. Click Release Now to release a template for users to customize or Expire Now to discontinue allowing customization.

 

Release and expiration dates for templates¶

Schedule release and expiration dates for templates from the Document Details page. Schedule a release date for templates that are newly uploaded (and therefore unreleased) so they're not available to users until you review and release them.

Schedule an expiration date for a template for some time in the future or expire a template now. For example, if you wanted to make a product sheet available only until the end of the year, add the expiration date of December 31.

Designers can also remove a template entirely from within InDesign.
