Assets can be added to new or existing collections from search results, the uploader, Asset Digest, and Asset Details page. You need the Administrate Global Collections permission to create global collections. Anyone can create a personal collection. When naming collections, avoid using certain characters that can cause errors. 

From search results

From New Search results

You can bulk add assets to collections directly from the New Search experience.

1. In New Search, run a search to display the assets you want to add.

2. Select one or more assets using the blue checkmarks on the asset cards.

3. When you select assets, a dark Bulk actions bar appears above the results.

4. In the Bulk actions bar, select the + (Add to collections) icon.

5. In the collections modal, choose one of the following:

   • New collection – Enter a Title and Description to create a new collection and add the selected assets.

   • Existing collection – Search for a collection, then select the + next to a collection to move it to the Selected column. Use Add all if you want to add assets to all listed collections.

6. Select Add to add the assets to the chosen collection(s).

7. Confirm the action using the success message that appears.

From classic search results

On the search results page, select one or multiple assets, and then in the Selection panel, click the Add icon. Click Add to collection. 

Choose to create a new collection or add to an existing global or personal collection.

From the uploader

Creating new collections and adding assets to existing collections looks much the same during upload. On the Review and Edit page, select one or multiple assets, then click Add to and Collection. Choose to create a new collection or add to an existing global or personal collection.

From Asset Digest

You can create a new collection or add an asset to an existing collection in Asset Digest. In the Asset associations section, with the Collections tab selected, click Add to collections. Create a new collection or select personal or global collections to add to – or both. 

From Asset Details page

From the Asset Details page, click Add to collection in the Collections section of the page. Choose to create a new collection or add to an existing global or personal collection.

Remove assets from a collection

From classic search results

If assets no longer need to be included in a collection, they can be removed using the Selection panel. Select the assets to remove, then choose the Options menu and select Remove from collection.

From Asset Digest

You can also remove single assets from Asset Digest. In the Asset associations section, with the Collections tab selected, click the Remove icon.

Bulk add actions are recorded in each asset's change history on the Asset Digest page.
