You can generate and store transcripts of videos on the Asset Digest page. Transcripts in DAM are generated through an integration with OpenAI Whisper.

They are searchable, so when a user performs a search for assets in DAM, video transcripts will be searched for that term or keyword phrase. Users can also do an advanced search to search only transcripts.

Enable transcripts

Transcript generation is an opt-in feature in DAM. An admin will need to turn it on for their entire site. To enable it, go to the Admin app, click Global Settings and Features.

Find the AI Video Transcripts feature and click the toggle.

Any user that can view a specific video asset will be able to view the transcript for a video. To transcribe videos and delete transcripts, you must have the Edit Assets’ Metadata, Type, and Preview permission. Please note that this permission does not allow editing of existing transcripts.

Generate transcripts

To transcribe a video, go to the Asset Digest for a video. In the Asset info section, select Transcript. To generate a transcript, click Transcribe with AI.

AI will start scanning the video for speech. That will be turned into text and added to the Transcript section. How long a transcript takes to generate depends on the length of the video. 

The transcript will be broken up into timestamped sections, like shown below.
