How do I relink InDesign assets that migrated from WebDAM to Acquia DAM?

If you have migrated your assets from WebDAM to Acquia DAM, assets that were linked in InDesign documents in Adobe Creative Cloud will need to be relinked using the CI HUB Connector.

Because links are based on matching filenames found in the DAM, the CI HUB Connector can automatically detect them after you open an InDesign document. You just need to relink them to migrated assets in the DAM, and here’s how.

Install CI HUB

First, you’ll need to register with CI HUB, then install CI HUB and connect it to the DAM.

To relink assets, you need to have access to the assets in the DAM; you do not need access to WebDAM.

1. In the InDesign Links panel, check the status for the linked assets in your document. Broken links will have a warning icon next to them.

2. Select the Relink icon for all files or for an individual file.

3. Click the dropdown arrow to the left of the file to see the corresponding asset in the DAM.

Note: If the asset does not appear, it might have been deleted from the DAM or the metadata field “Import WebDAM ID” no longer exists for this asset in the DAM. You will need to search for a new image to use in your InDesign document or contact your DAM admin.

4. Under the text “Match for,” you will see the asset you are linking to the DAM. Typically, only one asset will appear there and is automatically selected. You will need to manually select the thumbnail if:
  • More than one image appears and you need to select the correct one.
  • You want to change the image resolution.

5. In the Relink box that appears, select the target folder where the file will be saved on your computer and a conversion size for the asset.

6. Save your document.
