Introduction
This document provides information and instructions for the first steps to take with an Acquia DAM (Widen) account.
Admin setup configuration tasks
If you are an administrator setting up Acquia DAM (Widen) for your organization, start with these initial configuration tasks:
- Create a site account. For instructions, visit How do I create a site account?
- Set up users and permissions: Create user accounts, assign roles, and configure permissions so people can upload, manage, or download assets as needed. For more information, visit User audit, roles, and asset security.
- Configure metadata and taxonomy: Define fields, categories, and tags that users will apply to assets. Well-designed metadata makes assets easier to search for and govern. For more information, visit What user-related tasks are on the Admin dashboard?
- Create your folder and collection structure: Organize assets by brand, product, campaign, or region using folders and collections so teams can quickly find relevant content. For more information, visit the What are collections? document series.
- Set sharing and download policies: Review default download, sharing, and usage rules to ensure they meet your organization’s brand and compliance requirements. For more information, visit How do I approve if assets should be downloaded? and How do I share assets?
You can adjust these settings at any time as your library and team evolve.
