Insights Dashboards allow users to create personalized views of their digital asset management performance. This feature aggregates charts from various reports into a single interface so that administrators can obtain at-a-glance information regarding critical metrics without the need to navigate to multiple reports. This feature enables faster decision-making and helps validate the value of digital assets.
Permissions and requirements
Permissions: Only users with the Administrate Insights Dashboards permission can create new dashboards.
Prerequisites: Dashboards are built with charts from existing reports. To add a chart to a dashboard, you must first create the corresponding report in the Reports tab.
Creating a dashboard
Users can create multiple dashboards with customizable layouts to suit different reporting needs.
Navigate to the Insights application and click the Dashboards tab.
Click the Create dashboard button.
Enter a name for your dashboard.
Select a Dashboard Layout:
2 columns: Surfaces 2 charts per row.
3 columns: Surfaces 3 charts per row.
Click Create.
Managing charts
Once a dashboard is created, you can populate it with charts from your existing reports.
Adding charts
Open your dashboard and click Add Chart.
Use the search bar or filters (Report Creator, Report Type) to find the specific charts you wish to display.
Note: The image shown on the selection card reflects the type of chart (for example, Line, Bar) used in the source report.
Check the Select box for each chart that you want to include.
Click the Add button to insert them into the dashboard.
Working with Number charts
A new Number chart type is available for reports. These are ideal for dashboards because they display a single, high-level metric:
Count-based reports: Displays the total count (for example, Asset count, User count, Storage). The date range defaults to "Yesterday".
View-based reports: Displays a summation value of views across the selected date range.
Arranging and editing charts
Re-arrange: Click the six-dot icon on the top left of a chart and drag it to a new position. The new order is saved automatically.
Chart options: Click the 3-dot menu on a chart to Download (CSV, PNG, JPEG, SVG), View data table, Print chart, or Remove chart. If the chart type is Number, clicking on Download will download a Column chart. This is only for the Number chart type.
Data synchronization: Any changes made to the source report (for example, changing "Group by" from Day to Week) automatically reflect in the dashboard chart.
Managing dashboards
Setting a default dashboard
You can designate a specific dashboard to load automatically whenever you access the Insights application.
On the dashboard page, click the 3-dot menu next to the "Add Chart" button.
Select Set as your default.
A "Default" badge appears next to the dashboard name.
Note: Setting a default cannot be undone, but you can switch the default status to a different dashboard at any time.
Renaming and deleting
Rename: Hover over the dashboard name and click to update and save a new name.
Delete: Click the 3-dot menu in the upper right corner and select Delete dashboard. This action cannot be undone.
