Acquia DAM - October 2026
Bulk share in the new search experience
Users can select multiple assets and share them in a single action directly in the new search experience.
Customer benefits
- Redesigned search parity: Select and share multiple assets directly in the new search experience without switching to legacy search, delivering feature parity with legacy search workflows.
- Faster bulk share processing: Generate share links and complete asset packaging and download workflows faster compared to legacy search.
For more information, refer to Sharing assets in bulk in Acquia DAM.
Export search results in the new search experience
Users can export search results to a CSV file directly from the new search experience without switching to legacy search. The exported file includes metadata and related attributes for all matching assets.
Customer benefits
- Offline analysis and review: Review asset metadata for a full set of search results in a spreadsheet application.
- Bulk metadata preparation: Prepare metadata changes in the exported file for use with the metadata importer.
For more information, refer to How do I export search results?.
Add Acquia DAM assets independently in Drupal
With Acquia DAM module version 1.1.19 or later, editors can add Acquia DAM assets to a Drupal site from the Drupal Add media form without first creating a node or other content. To add an asset, go to Content > Media > Add media, or go to /media/add/{media-type}. Select an Acquia DAM media type, and then select an asset in the Acquia DAM asset picker.
Customer benefits
- Standalone media creation: Add Acquia DAM assets to the media library without creating content first.
- Relevant asset selection: The asset picker displays only the assets that match the selected media type.
- No duplicate media: If a media item already exists for the selected asset, Drupal reuses the existing media item.
- Standardized permissions: The feature uses the Drupal permissions that the site already uses for media creation.
For more information, refer to FAQs for the Acquia DAM module.
Focal Point enhancements for the Acquia DAM module
Acquia DAM module version 1.1.19 or later includes enhancements to Focal Point support for Acquia DAM images.
Customer benefits
- Preview before saving: When editing the focal point on existing media, select Preview to open a modal that displays the effect of the focal point image style on the original image.
- Expanded image style support: Focal Point supports the Focal Point Scale and Crop and Focal Point Crop by Width image styles.
- Consistent cropping for smaller images: Focal Point applies cropping when the original image is smaller than the focal point image style.
- Synchronize focal points across delivery methods: The acquia-dam:update-media-focal-point Drush command (alias ad:umfp) copies the focal point of each existing Acquia DAM image media entity between Download and sync and embed image style crops. The command then flushes the image style derivatives so that both delivery methods render the same focal point.
For more information, refer to Integrate Acquia DAM with Focal Point.
