You can export asset metadata and information from search results in Acquia DAM into a CSV file. This enables administrators and contributors to audit metadata, analyze asset collections, and share asset details outside of Acquia DAM.

The export process depends on whether your organization uses the classic search experience or the new search experience.

Prerequisites and permissions

To export search results in Acquia DAM:

• You must have an active Acquia DAM user account with permissions to access assets and perform searches.
• To export custom metadata fields or Baton share links, your user role must have permission to access those specific attributes.

Exporting search results in the new search experience

In the new search experience, search results stream directly to your browser as a CSV download without buffering the full dataset in memory.

To export asset details from the new search experience:

1. In Acquia DAM, navigate to the search page.
2. Enter your search criteria or apply filters to display the assets that you want to export.
3. Select CSV Export on the asset listing page.
4. In the CSV Export dialog box, enter a file name in the Export name field.
5. Select one of the following export options:
   • All Columns: Exports standard metadata fields, custom metadata fields, and Baton share links.
   • Exclude Links: Exports standard and custom metadata fields without Baton share links.
6. Select the Export button.

The browser immediately downloads the generated CSV file.

Exporting search results in the classic search experience

To export asset details from the classic search experience:

1. In Acquia DAM, navigate to the search page.

2. Perform a search to display the assets that you want to export.

   Note

   The export includes all search results. Selecting individual assets is not supported in the classic search experience.

3. Select the Export menu, and then select Export CSV. Then, Acquia DAM displays a confirmation notification.

4. In the confirmation notification, select the exports link, or navigate to Activity > Exports.

5. In the Exports list, verify that the Status column displays Completed.

6. Select the file name in the Search Name column or select the download icon in the Options column to download your CSV file.

Understanding the exported CSV file structure

The exported CSV file contains one row for each exported asset, along with the following standard columns:

• Asset ID: The unique identifier for the asset in Acquia DAM.
• Filename: The name of the original uploaded file.
• File Type: The format and MIME type of the asset.
• File Size: The size of the asset file.
• Date Added: The timestamp when the asset was uploaded to Acquia DAM.
• Date Modified: The timestamp when the asset was last updated.
• Status: The current lifecycle status of the asset (for example, active or expired).
• Metadata Fields: Individual columns for each included standard or custom metadata field.
• Share Links: Direct Baton URLs for accessing or downloading the asset (included only when you select the All Columns option).
