Translating menus on multilingual sites

Before you begin with these steps, ensure that you have languages configured for your site.

Use the following steps to translate menus on multilingual sites:

  1. Access your site.

  2. In the left sidebar, click Structure > Menus.
  3. Navigate to Structure > Menus.
  4. From the list of available menus, select the menu that you want to edit.
  5. Select the language in which you want the menu to display.
  6. Use the language selector to translate menu items.
  7. Configure translation settings as needed.
  8. Click Save.

In addition to standard content links, you can create:

  • External links: Links to other websites.
  • Fragment links: Links to sections within the current page (#section).
  • Special paths: Links to system functions such as search or user registration.
  • Placeholder links: Non-linking items that serve as section headers. This is done using <nolink> as the path.

After setting up your menus, you may want to:

  • Customize the appearance of your menus
  • Configure components to control where menus appear
  • Set up permissions for menu management
  • Create content types with custom menu settings
