Disabling entity deletion propagation

In Content Hub, when you delete an entity on a publisher site or Content Hub service with the ach-del command, the system automatically removes that entity from all connected subscriber sites by default. This synchronization maintains consistent content across your digital ecosystem. However, certain scenarios require greater control over entity deletions.

You can choose to disable the deletion in connected subscriber sites with the Disable entity deletion propagation setting option. This prevents automatic synchronization of deletion events. When you select this option, an entity that is deleted from the source remains on subscriber sites. Use this feature to maintain specific data on selected sites and avoid accidental data loss. This setting applies to both config and content entities.

How to disable entity deletion propagation

  1. Go to the Acquia Content Hub export queue settings at /admin/config/services/acquia-contenthub/export-queue.

  2. Locate the Disable entity deletion propagation option.
  3. Check this box to enable the feature. When enabled, deletions are not pushed to subscriber sites.

Benefits

  • Gain control over content cleanup and decide when to remove entities from subscriber sites.
  • Prevent unintentional data loss by ensuring deletions on one site do not remove content from others.
