Can I use Drupal blocks on the layout canvas?

Yes. You can add Drupal blocks to the layout canvas using the block element.

You can add Drupal block elements to the layout canvas using the block element. The block must be placed within a Drupal region within Structure > Block layout before it will appear in the list of available blocks in the block element.

When a block is placed onto the layout canvas, you will not be able to access the block settings. These must be set when placing the block in the Drupal region.
