Site Studio semantic versioning ¶

The following points explain how Site Studio releases are versioned:

• Major releases, such as 7.0.0, contain breaking changes and require manual intervention.

• Minor releases, such as 7.1.0, contain new features and bug fixes.

  Acquia recommends that you first apply a major release on a local or dev instance of your website, and then apply it on your production instance.

• Patch releases, such as 7.1.1, contain only bug fixes.
