Changes to Accessibility scores with v7

This release includes two changes that may affect your Acquia Web Governance Accessibility scoring.

  • The accessible name detection is now more advanced and closely aligned with W3C guidance. Due to this update, your accessibility reports and score, as a result, are more accurate and reflect the true state of your site.
  • Web Governance now scans and reports on accessibility issues inside Shadow DOM components and web widgets, essential for sites using modern, component-based frameworks. This change means you will have a truly comprehensive view: accessibility barriers in encapsulated elements are now surfaced, to give you the most complete reporting possible. Because of this improvement, new issues may be detected by the scan that can affect your accessibility score.

These changes are reflected in your accessibility compliance score chart and indicated with a vertical orange line to indicate the point at which the score calculation changes took affect.
