What is the difference between Ignore and Mark as Fixed?
You can choose to handle issues found by the Web Governance scan with the options Ignore or Mark as fixed. This document provides an explanation for how each option works:
Ignore: Mark an issue as 'ignore' to indicate that you do not want to see an error for it. When you choose this option, the system removes the issue from the list and ignores it on future scans. Use this option if you are sure that the marked issue is not an error.
The system recalculates the website's compliance score when you ignore an issue. This is because the system regards ignored issues as non-existent. If you ignore a flagged issue, it is not factored into future scans, and this permanently affects the compliance score of your website.
The following is the crucial difference between the issues that you mark as fixed and issues that you mark as ignore:
Issues that are marked as fixed are flagged upon future scans
Issues that are set to ignore are permanently omitted from future scans and future compliance score calculations. The issue may occur again if the system gets a different error response.
Ignored issues are displayed again if the status issue changes. For example, a link previously marked as broken with a 404 status and ignored is reset if the link later receives a new Ok status, such as 200. If the same link starts to return a 404 error in the future, it is displayed on the broken links report again.
