The crawler finds all pages that it can access, including where live links are present to connect the pages.
The following are the methods to exclude old or inactive domains:
Create link exclusions to prevent the crawler from scanning anything on inactive domains.
For more information, visit How to create path constraints and link exclusions.
Create path constraints that specify exactly what the scan covers.
For more information, visit How to create path constraints and link exclusions.
The scan might also automatically detect an inactive domain. When this happens, a warning indicator (an orange triangle containing an exclamation point) is displayed on the same row as the domain. A domain can also be labeled as inactive when it is not configured for active scanning on the platform.
The scan does not automatically run on inactive domains. To do a scan on an inactive domain, select the On-demand scan button in the dashboard.
