How do I allow downloads or shares from a portal?

If you're creating a portal, you can allow assets to be downloaded or shared from each section of a portal. Allow downloading and sharing from one or all sections in public and private portals by clicking Settings for a section and Download and Share.

When you allow downloads, users can download individual assets or all assets from the section in the portal. Sharing allows anyone with access to the portal to share links, embed codes, and access direct links for assets in the portal.

If you enable quick downloads for an asset section, users will automatically download single assets in the format you selected in the quick download format dropdown. If you don’t enable quick downloads for the section, a user will see a modal with download options. Read more about the download modal in the article about downloading assets in the Assets app.

Troubleshooting note: If the you're having trouble seeing the download modal in previously published portals, check that the enable quick download setting is turned off in asset section settings.

For batch downloads of assets, choose to allow one or all download options:

  • Original file format
  • Small format (600px)
  • Medium format (1,280px)
  • Large format (2,048px)

By default, the original format is selected.

Image file types will download as PNGs or JPGs, depending on whether or not there’s a transparent layer. AI (including native AI files), EPS, GIF, PNG, SVG, and TIFF files will download as PNGs. All other image file types will download as JPGs. Document file types including PDF, DOCX, and PPTX can only be downloaded in their original format.
