In the Insights app, dashboards were retired on March 1, 2024. This allows us to build out the new Insights reports experience faster and retire slow-performing features that run on the legacy data pipeline.
What’s changing?¶
As your organization has grown, so has the number of assets and amount of data in your Acquia DAM. The Insights infrastructure needs to evolve to handle this increased data flow, so we’ve rebuilt it with a new data warehouse powered by Snowflake so it can support your DAM at any scale.
To fully transition to the new, faster data pipeline, we need to sunset our legacy data infrastructure and retire two features that run on it:
1. Dashboards in the Insights app.
2. Quick Insights for individual assets. Insights in Asset Digest will replace this and has already been released.
TimelineSeptember 2023: Data available in Insights was reduced from three years to the most recent 13 months. However, your data is safe, and three years of data is being retained in our new data warehouse.
November 1, 2023: We launched the initial reports experience. With the tool, you can access, apply filters and date ranges, and export a full three years of Insights data (January 1, 2021 and onward) for asset downloads. Event types like views, shares, and logins are coming. With each event type, you’ll be able to access the same timeframe of data.
January 16, 2024: We released charts and data summaries in reports. Initially, this is for download data only.
March 1, 2024: Insights dashboards were retired.
2024: We will continually add all event types that you were able to view in dashboard widgets – shares, logins, searches, uploads, views, asset count, user count, and storage – to the new reports tool.
After that, we have big plans for Insights, including but not limited to:
- More analytics for portals
- More analytics for video assets
- Improvements to reports permissions and findability
- Iterations on reports filters, groupings, and export columns
- Dashboards for monitoring key metrics
What should I do if I need access to my data in the meantime?¶
There will be a period of time where you might not have all the data you need in reports. We recognize that transitions of this scale are difficult. We’ll send out communications in the app and through email to let you know when new event types and other features are released.
In the meantime, if you need to access event data other than downloads, reach out to your account rep for more information.
