Introduction¶
Web Governance Consent Manager is a consent management platform (CMP) that enables your website to handle cookies and visitor consent in accordance with local privacy regulations. Whether your website needs to comply with the EU General Data Privacy Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), or both, the Web Governance Consent Manager makes user and cookie consent straightforward for both you and your users.
This document is intended as technical documentation for to help you implement the Consent Manager add-on. It is written for developers or users with technical knowledge and provides the information required to fully implement the solution. It contains both quick guides and more in-depth documentation.

Terminology¶
Throughout these documents, we refer to two different components of the Consent Manager that make up the visitor-facing part of the solution:
- Cookie banner
- Consent widget.
Cookie banner¶
This is the actual banner that visitors see when they open up a website that has the Consent Manager enabled.
After a visitor has made a consent choice on the cookie banner, a small consent widget will appear and stick as they browse the site. This widget allows visitors to easily change their consent choice at any time.
