This article provides information on how to locate and address accessibility issues with the web browser extension.
Locate accessibility issues¶
- Open the website and activate the web browser extension. The extension toolbar opens.
Click Content Issues (the insect icon).
The Content Issues pane opens.
In the Accessibility section, in the same column as a failing check, click See Issues. The details pane opens. An icon indicates the type of issue.
Errors (insect icon)
These are content issues such as HTML snippets that are not compliant. These issues can only be fixed with a change to the source code.
Warnings (bell icon)
These issues need to be reviewed manually.
Reviews (eye icon)
These issues cannot be tested by the software and therefore need to be reviewed manually.
Address accessibility issues¶
This section provides next steps on how to do a review of accessibility issues and how to find information about how to repair each issue.
- Identify the issue as per the steps in the previous section.
- Review the issue to determine if it is an actual issue. For step-by-step instructions on how to review accessibility issues with the web browser extension and the Web Governance application, visit How to review an accessibility issue.
When an issue requires attention, click Accessibility Guide within the extension. You are redirected to a step-by-step guide which includes instructions, examples, and everything needed to resolve each of the issues that the scan identifies.
