Language Validation is a new feature with limited availability. It is not automatically applied to your domain at this time. To enable Language Validation, contact Support and request this feature.
Introduction
The Language Validation module helps you identify pages on your website that contain words and sentences that are written in a different language from what was specified in the HTML code. This mismatch causes the words to be flagged with spelling issues, when in fact the system was checking for spelling in a different language. Language Validation properly identifies these words and sentences as a different language, and alerts you about areas that may need to have adjustments made to the language settings.
Language Validation can assist with the following issues and more:
SEO penalties: Search engines prioritize websites that are accessible and user-friendly. Inconsistent language on a page can negatively impact search engine rankings.
Accessibility barriers: Language-related issues can create barriers for people with disabilities, such as those who rely on screen readers or translation tools.
How it works
Language Validation uses language classification (AI) to automatically detect the following on each page:
Languages that are used
Distribution of languages
Sentence boundaries of each language
The system compares the language(s) that are detected by AI to the language that is specified in the HTML lang tag. Language Validation can identify and flag the following:
Mismatched language tags: Pages for which the detected language is different from the specified language tag.
Missing language tags: Pages that do not have a language tag.
Multi-language pages: Pages that contain content in multiple languages.
Prerequisites
The domain must be configured by your customer service manager to include this new module.
