What should I do to prepare for an Acquia asset migration?

When using the Acquia Asset Migration Service, prepare for migration by following these steps.

Organize folder structures

If you’re doing an S3 transfer, organize the folder structures so they transfer into the DAM correctly.

Remember that each parent or root folder can be matched to a unique upload profile – which assigns assets to an asset group – within the DAM. Subfolders within those parent folders will take on the upload profile of the parent folder. Also, ensure that folder names have no restricted characters. 

You can use this CSV template to help plan your migration. 

 

Check your upload profiles

For the upload profiles you’re using, make sure your metadata types include the original filepath field. If they don’t, the field will not be filled in during the migration. Acquia teams can help you add that field, if needed.
