Assets are pieces of content that you want to make available for your contacts to access. You want to track and report on who is viewing or downloading your assets. You may also want to personalize the contact’s journey based on what assets they interacted with. You may also do lead scoring based on interaction with assets.

Adding assets

To add a asset:

• Log in to Campaign Studio.

• In the left navigation pane, click Components > Assets.

  Campaign Studio displays the Assets page. If you have already added assets, you see the list here.

• To add a new asset, click +New in the top right corner.

  Campaign Studio displays the New Asset page.

• To upload a file from your local storage:

  • In Storage Location, click Local.

  • In Upload a file, do one of the following:

    • Drag and drop the file.

    • Click inside the box to browse and select the file from your local storage.

    Depending on the file type, you may see a preview of the asset.

• To upload a file from a remote storage:

  • In Storage Location, click Remote.

    

  • Based on your remote storage option, do one of the following:

    • In Remote URL, enter the file link from your cloud storage provider.

    • Click Browse Remote Files and browse your Openstack, Rackspace, or Amazon S3 for the file.

• In Title, enter a title for the asset.

• In Alias, enter an alias name for the asset.

  This is an optional field. If you do not enter an alias name, Campaign Studio generates it from the title. The alias becomes the slug on the download URL once you upload the asset.

• In Description, enter a description for the asset.

  This is an optional field. Descriptions help other users to understand what the asset is for.

• Set the appropriate configurations on the right menu:

  • Category: Organize your assets based on their parameters such goals and campaigns. For more information about categories, see Global Categories.

  • Language: Displays which language your asset is available for. You can use this information in reporting on assets by language.

  • Published: Set the Yes/No toggle bar to publish or unpublish an asset. You cannot download or view unpublished assets, and send such assets as an attachment in an email.

  • Publish at: Set the date and time you want the asset to publish. This helps to control relevance, and does not require you to manually publish an asset at the right time.

    To schedule an asset to publish at a specified date and time:

    • Click the Publish at (date/time) box and select your preferred date and time from the Date and Time picker.

    • Set Published to Yes.

    Campaign Studio marks the asset as Pending and publishes it at the scheduled date and time.

  • Unpublish at: Set the date and time you want an asset to unpublish. This helps to control relevance, and does not require you to manually unpublish an asset at the right time.

    To schedule a published asset to unpublish at a specified date and time:

    • Click the Unpublish at (date/time) box and select your preferred date and time from the Date and Time picker.

    Campaign Studio unpublishes asset at the scheduled date and time.

• Click Save or Save & Close.

Accepted file types

Campaign Studio accepts the following file extensions: .csv, .doc, .docx, .epub, .gif, .ics, .jpg, .jpeg, .mpg, .mpeg, .mp3, .odt, .odp, .ods, .pdf, .png, .ppt, .pptx, .tif, .tiff, .txt, .xls, .xlsx, .wav.

The Assets page lists all the assets that you have created, and provides the following information about each asset:

Making assets available

Once you upload an asset, you will want to make it available for your contacts to access it. Using the Download URL option from the asset details page in Campaign Studio, you can track which contacts are downloading or viewing the assets.

• Log in to Campaign Studio.

• In the left navigation pane, click Components > Assets.

• On the Assets page, click the asset that you want to use. The system displays the asset’s details page.

• From the Download URL field, copy the URL.

You can copy and paste the link into your website, on a landing page, or as a link in an email. In a Campaign Studio email or landing page, append ?stream=1 to the end of the URL to open the asset in a new tab.

Whether the asset downloads, or opens in a new tab from a web page depends on the contact’s browser settings. To gate an asset, you may have a form submit action to download an asset.

To ensure that contacts are providing you with valid email addresses for high-value assets, attach the asset to an email and use the send email form submit action rather than instantly downloading the asset.
