Segment text messages

Segment text messages can be used to send text and multimedia messages to contact segments.

Creating segment text messages

  1. Log in to Campaign Studio.
  2. Click ChannelsText Messages.
  3. On the Text Messages page, click +New.

  5. In Internal Name, specify the name that you want to display in your text messages list.

Acquia recommends having a naming convention for different types of text messages that you may send. A naming convention helps you to keep your list organized and also helps team members to easily find text messages.

  6. In Text Message, create the text message content.

In the body of text messages, Campaign Studio supports global tokens and other tokens such as {contactfield=firstname}.

  7. In Category, specify the category for your text messages based on their goals, campaigns, and other categories.

    For more information, see Categories.

  8. In Language, select the language for the text message.

This helps you to select the appropriate message in a campaign.

  10. In Contact segment, select the segment or segments that you want to use to send the segment text message.

Campaign Studio marks the template text message as Pending and publishes it at the scheduled date and time.

  12. In Unpublish at (date/time), set the date and time you want a template text message to unpublish.

To schedule a published template text message to unpublish at a specified date and time:

    1. Click the Unpublish at (date/time) box and select your preferred date and time from the Date and Time picker.

Campaign Studio unpublishes the template text message at the scheduled date and time

After the segment text message is sent, Campaign Studio does not automatically send it to new contacts thats are added to the segment. Contacts added to the segment after the segment text message has sent receive a Pending status. To send the segment text message to the new contacts in the segment, you must reschedule the message to send again. Campaign Studio sends the rescheduled segment text message only to the new contacts. Contacts can only receive a segment text message once.
