The MasterCustomer Staging View feature standardizes and streamlines the IRE ruleset testing process. The feature enables IT and data engineers to safely review results and validate proposed changes without any impact on live data. This solution minimizes risk, provides effective test support, and enables customers to optimize their data processing rules to ensure the integrity and functionality of the production environment.
Capabilities¶
- Standardized Staging View: Provides a uniform Staging View table that mirrors the main MasterCustomer table across all tenant environments.
- IRE change validation: Supports IRE change validation through direct comparison with existing rulesets to facilitate effective testing.
- Visibility and testing: Offers visibility and testing capabilities in Interactive Query and Snowflake Data Share for users with appropriate subscriptions.
Use cases¶
- Data engineers integrate a new source system through API or SFTP into Customer Data Platform (CDP) and review the IRE MasterCustomer rule updates before the deployment of additional rules.
- Data engineers optimize the IRE MasterCustomer to address data discrepancies in the source system. The feature enables them to view, evaluate, and compare the impact of changes on the ruleset.
- Data analysts or scientists identify adjustments for the IRE MasterCustomer rule and test the findings to compare current and future staging rules for strategic updates.
- Marketers identify fragmented customer profiles caused by IT updates and find data entry anomalies with reduced campaign success. They use the flexibility of IRE MasterCustomer Staging changes to accelerate tests and enhance campaign outcomes.
Limitations¶
- Customers are dependent on Acquia Professional Services to:
- Make edits to IRE rules
- Execute ad-hoc reruns of the Business Intelligence pipeline to refresh updates
- Rerun the data warehouse to add new records as the Business Intelligence pipeline alone does not incorporate new data
- End results look similar to the production environment, with only one MasterCustomer Stage table available per tenant.
- Reconfigurations must be limited to the IRE Staging View. Any additional requests beyond this scope require a Level of Effort (LOE) assessment from Acquia Professional Services.
- Access and results are provided exclusively to customers with an Interactive Queries or Snowflake Data Share add-on subscription. Visibility into the Staging View table may be limited without facilitation by Acquia Professional Services.
