Acquia DAM has an add-on syndication tool that enables you to transform and distribute your product information and assets to digital commerce platforms. There are two methods to syndicate:
From Entries: Syndicate product data and assets managed in the Entries application. Refer to Syndicating from Entries following.
Directly from DAM: Syndicate assets from DAM without the requirement for Entries. This method uses product data from your existing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Product Information Management (PIM), or spreadsheets. Refer to Syndicating directly from DAM following.
Syndicating from Entries
Refine product list
First, determine the list of products and attributes in Entries that you want to synchronize with the syndication tool.
Navigate to the Entries application.
Select Syndication in the Entries menu. On the Syndication page, you can access a list of all products in Entries.
To refine the list, select Filter products and apply filters such as SKU, product name, product type, featured image, or any attribute.
Select Select attribute columns and choose the attributes you want to synchronize with the syndication tool. The SKU and product name are always included as columns. UPC is a must attribute for syndication. If you do not have one, you must create it as a new attribute.
How do I syndicate my products in Entries?
Acquia DAM has an add-on syndication tool that enables you to transform and distribute your product information and assets to digital commerce platforms. There are two methods to syndicate:

To refine the list, select Filter products and apply filters such as SKU, product name, product type, featured image, or any attribute.
Select Select attribute columns and choose the attributes you want to synchronize with the syndication tool. The SKU and product name are always included as columns. UPC is a must attribute for syndication. If you do not have one, you must create it as a new attribute.
Note
If filtering to the right products is challenging, consider adding a new single-select product attribute called "Ready for syndication". Add two values—Yes and No—and select Yes for products you want added to the list. After you make your product list, apply the "Ready for syndication" attribute as a filter and select the value as Yes.
Synchronize with syndication
After you finish refining your product list, select Sync now. This action synchronizes the assets, attributes, and other information for the products in this list to the syndication tool.
After information for products in your syndication product list is updated, you can access a message that displays the number of products with changes that are not synchronized. Before you launch the syndication tool, ensure you synchronize so that it has the most recent Entries information.
Important points:
This is a one-way synchronization only for the products in this list. Any changes you make to these products in the syndication tool are overwritten by Entries information.
Filtering and synchronizing the products in this list only adds or overwrites data in the syndication tool. It does not remove products or data.
If you change the filters and attributes for the product list but do not update the details for the products in the list, the synchronization bar does not display.
All users can see when a synchronization is in progress. Synchronizations can take several minutes depending on the amount of data and your connection.
Auto synchronization process
In addition to manual synchronization, Entries supports an automatic synchronization ("auto sync") to Syndic8.
No manual action: No manual action must be performed. Auto synchronization synchronizes product changes to Syndic8 without the requirement to select Sync.
Delta-based updates: Auto synchronization sends only new or updated product information. It does not synchronize all products every time.
Scope of changes: Auto synchronization runs after you create or update products. It does not run after you delete products.
Timing: Auto synchronization uses a delta-process to push only changed data. It typically reflects your changes in Syndic8 in approximately 30 minutes.
Manual synchronization use case: Use a manual synchronization to remove products from Syndic8 or to perform a full refresh of all product data.
Syndicate products
After your product list is fully synchronized and ready, select Launch syndication. You log in to Acquia Syndicate—powered by the plug-in Syndic8—through single sign-on (SSO). Ensure your trading partners are already connected and fields from Entries are mapped to your trading partners.
Syndicating directly from DAM
If you do not use Entries, you can syndicate assets directly from DAM using product data from your existing ERP, PIM, or spreadsheets.
Set up assets for syndication
Create a syndication asset group: In DAM, create an asset group named "Syndication" (this is the default name; a different name can be configured during implementation). Ensure product marketers have permission to access and add assets to this group.
Add assets to the group: Add the images, documents, or videos you want to syndicate to the Syndication asset group.
(Optional) Tag assets with SKU metadata: Add values to a "SKU" metadata field on your assets. This indicates to the Syndicate module which product each asset belongs to. If SKU values are not provided, you must manually match assets to products later.
(Optional) Tag assets with Angle metadata: Add values to an "Angle" metadata field to indicate the product shot angle each asset represents. Examples include front, side, or back.
Access the Syndicate module
Open the application picker on the primary DAM navigation bar and select the Syndication module. Assets from the Syndication asset group open in the Media Management tab in approximately 15 minutes. Users must have the "Access Syndication" permission to use the module.
Associate assets with products
If assets are tagged with SKU metadata and a matching product exists, they are associated. If not, use the "Match Media" feature in the Actions list to manually associate assets to products.
To create product records, you can:
Use Product Content Imports in the left-side navigation to import product data from your ERP, PIM, or spreadsheet.
Use the Create New Product button on the Products page to add products individually.
Auto synchronization from DAM
DAM supports automatic synchronization of assets to the Syndicate module:
Delta-based updates: Auto synchronization sends only new or updated asset information.
Scope of changes: Auto synchronization runs after you add or update assets. It does not run after you delete assets.
Timing: Auto synchronization typically reflects your changes in approximately 30 minutes.
Create and add collections
To create a collection of products for a product line or seasonal campaign, navigate to the Collections page and select Create new collection. Enter a name and description for the collection. Then select from two types: manual and Smart Collection. Smart Collections are useful because they add products that match filters you establish.
The filters are based on your product information. First, select a product type. Then select a filter property and an operator. Finally, enter a value.
Example: If you want bike accessories for a brand called Bliss to be added to this collection, your filter setup is:
Product type: Accessories
Filter property: Brand type
Operator: Is
Value: Bliss
On the Collections page, select the Smart Collection you created. Select Actions and Add to Trading Partner, and select one or more trading partners.
Add products individually
You can add products individually to specific trading partners for syndication. Select the trading partner you want to add products to. On the Products page, select one or multiple products you want to add. Then select Actions and Add to Trading Partner. You can add the products to one or more trading partners.
On the trading partner page, you can now access added products. Select products you want to syndicate, then select Actions and Syndicate.
Select a method of syndication:
Preflight: This shows what the data looks like before you export it to the trading partner.
Spreadsheet: This enables you to download the export to a CSV file and upload to the trading partner platform.
API: If you have an Application Programming Interface (API) connection with a trading partner, you can syndicate through API.
Additional syndication features
AI Assistant: Generate product copy tailored to a target persona or demographic.
Translation Assistant: AI-powered translations for over 50 languages and regions.
A+ Content: Create rich media content for Amazon Marketplace listings.
