You can link to and view Digimarc images in Photoshop by downloading the free Digimarc Barcode for Digital Images plugin from Adobe Exchange.
Once downloaded, drag and drop the contents of the folder into the following path on your hard drive:
Digimarc’s enhancement process uses color space (a specific organization of colors) within an image’s pixels to apply its payload. Some image types contain no color space, so must be converted prior to applying a watermark. Those image types include vector or line art, palettized images, and true black and white. In addition, assets must be greater than 300 px in size in order to be enhanced with Digimarc IDs.

By default, if a Digimarc ID cannot be applied to an asset format, you'll receive an error message when downloading the asset. As the DAM admin, you can request this be changed to always allow the asset to be downloaded even if it's not enhanced by contacting the Support team. There are, however, security implications with that method.
