With the Segments tab in Campaign Factory, you can manage unused segments across all Campaign Factory accounts and Campaign Studio instances, and unpublish them to improve performance.
Note
Published segments that are currently not in use can cause performance issues.
Only users with Admin role, Super user, or a custom role with edit instance permissions can unpublish segments.
Segments page
The Segments page displays all unused segments across all accounts and instances.
The Segments page does not display segments from the following list because Campaign Studio cannot unpublish a segment being used in one of these areas:
Campaigns
Emails
Segment
SMS
Notification
Form action
The system displays a red notification bar if an operation is unsuccessful or not possible. It includes details such as:
The name of the segment
The name of the instance that contains the segment
A message indicating why the operation failed
Column | Description |
---|---|
CHECK BOX | To select one or multiple unused published segments for unpublishing. |
SEGMENT NAME | Displays the unused segment. |

Note
If a segment is unpublished, the system does not display a checkbox to the left of the Segment Name because no action can be taken on an unpublished segment.
You can only unpublish segments from the Segments page in Campaign Factory. You must republish segments in the Campaign Studio instance the segment belongs to.

You can filter unused segments by:
Per page: To view 25, 50 or 100 unused segments on the page.

On the left panel, locate the Publish option and select Yes.
Click Save & Close.
Note
Changes to segments at the instance level take up to one hour to reflect on the Segments page in Campaign Factory.
