Tags are a controlled list of keywords that you add to an asset to help others discover it in the Acquia DAM. Once the feature is enabled, tags display in the Asset Digest and the asset uploader. Tags are also searchable through quick search and advanced search.
- Go to the Admin app.
- Click Features under Global Settings.
- Enable the Tags setting.
Existing keyword metadata will not automatically migrate to tags when you enable the tags feature. If you have a keyword metadata field, decide whether you want to keep it or disable the keyword field and have tags replace it.
If you want tags to replace the keyword field:
- From search results, export all asset metadata to a CSV file.
- In the CSV, create a copy of the keyword metadata column and label it Tags.
- Revise or add values in the Tags column, as needed. For assets that have multiple values, check that you have the correct formatting for multi-value fields. You can import up to 100 tags per asset.
- On the dashboard, click Upload and Metadata and import the CSV.
- Map the keyword field to Tags. For more detailed instructions on importing and mapping, see this article.
- Confirm that the tags imported correctly and disable the keyword metadata field.
If you want to enable tags and keep the existing keyword field:
- Update the keyword field permission so only admins can edit. Uploaders won’t be able to enter new keyword metadata for assets but the field will remain searchable in the DAM.
- Rename the field to something like “Keyword Classic,” so DAM users can distinguish between this and tags.
